Announcement: Maintenance of Status Fee Implementation

The University has implemented a Maintenance of Status Fee that will be assessed to all students applying for Post-Completion Optional Practical Training (OPT) and the STEM OPT Extension.
This fee is being assessed due to the increased demand for specialized support services provided to F-1 students after completion of their studies at Saint Peter’s University. The fee structure is as follows:
-$100 for students applying for the standard 12 months of Post-Completion OPT.
-$200 for students applying for the 24-month STEM OPT Extension.

The University has implemented a Maintenance of Status Fee that will be assessed to all students applying for Post-Completion Optional Practical Training (OPT) and the STEM OPT Extension. 

This fee is being assessed due to the increased demand for specialized support services provided to F-1 students after completion of their studies at Saint Peter’s University. The fee does not apply to former students who have already been approved for OPT or STEM OPT Extension. The fee structure is as follows:

-$100 for students applying for the standard 12 months of Post-Completion OPT.  

-$200 for students applying for the 24-month STEM OPT Extension.

TO PAY THE FEE, FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

Currently Enrolled Students

  1. Log in to Self Service portal
  2. Click on Student Finance from homepage
  3. Select Make a Payment
  4. Continue to Payment Center

Formerly Enrolled Students

  1. If you can log in to your Saint Peter's campus Gmail, in your inbox click on the 9 dots "Google Apps" at the top right.
  2. Then scroll down and click Touchnet Payment Center.

If you cannot log in to Saint Peter's Gmail, email studentaccounts@saintpeters.edu and provide a personal email address. The department will set you up as an authorized user. This will grant login credentials for accessing the Payment Center.

AFTER YOU HAVE PAID THE FEE, FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

  1. Log into the International Student Portal
  2. Click on the Student Request Center
  3. Click on the Maintenance of Status Fee Payment Request
  4. Upload a copy of the Payment Receipt
  5. Click Submit

Please note that students will be required to provide evidence of having paid the Maintenance of Status Fee before receiving the OPT or STEM OPT recommendation from the Center for Global Learning (CGL).

NOTE: This fee is separate from the USCIS OPT/STEM OPT Application fee

This fee is essential to ensure that we continue to improve on the level of support services provided to international students post-completion of their degree at Saint Peter’s University.
