F-1 Employment and Travel Workshops

Registeration links are now available in the Center for Global Learning Event Calendar  You can even add this calendar to your Google Calendar! Workshops are generally directed to students who have been enrolled for one term.
>>>Students are required to attend workshops and are responsible for policy and government regulations shared in the workshops. Please make time to attend. <<<

CURRICULAR PRACTICAL TRAINING (CPT) WORKSHOP

• Attend this workshop one term before you begin your job search
• Registration for an internship or other applied experience course is required for CPT.
• Deadline to apply is always the course add/drop deadline of the academic term.

F-1 TRAVEL WORKSHOP

• Know the basics of what is needed to travel within the US and outside of the US
• Attend before leaving the US

POST-COMPLETION OPTIONAL PRACTICAL TRAINING (OPT)  WORKSHOPS 

• Download and view the Post-Completion OPT Timeline handout  
• Attend this workshop one term before you are expected to complete all degree requirements
• A job offer is not required to apply for Post-Completion OPT.
• Must submit OPT request in ISP before $100 Maintenance of Status fee is applied in your SPU Payment Center.

STEM OPT EXTENSION WORKSHOP

• Ideal to attend once you are approved for Post-Completion OPT or…if you are just interested in planning ahead!
• Start preparing your documents four to six months before your Post-Completion OPT EAD expires.
• Must submit OPT STEM Extension request in ISP before $200 Maintenance of Status fee is applied in your SPU Payment Center.

Registration for workshops is required and visual attendance will be taken.
Session may be canceled 10 minutes after the session start time due to lack of attendance.
